An alternative to sugar is to add honey but only after the tea is warm and not boiling hot. This prevents diminishing the honey’s natural benefits.
The other way is to boil water first. Place the basil in a herb ball and place in a ceramic cup. Pour the water in the ceramic cup containing the herb ball and cover with a towel.
