In this article, we will explore the multifaceted world of folding saws—examining their features, applications, and why they have become an indispensable addition to any outdoor enthusiast’s toolkit.

Choosing the Right Folding Saw

When selecting a folding saws for bushcraft, consider the following important factors:

Blade Quality and Material: Look for a saw with a high-quality blade made from durable materials such as carbon steel or stainless steel. The blade should have sharp teeth that are capable of cutting through wood efficiently without dulling too quickly. Additionally, consider the length and thickness of the blade to ensure it’s suitable for the types of wood you’ll be cutting.

Portability and Compactness: Since bushcraft often involves traveling light and being on the move, choose a folding saw that is compact and lightweight. Look for models that fold down to a small size for easy storage and transportation in your backpack or gear kit. However, balance portability with functionality to ensure the saw is still capable of handling various cutting tasks effectively.

Locking Mechanism and Stability: A reliable locking mechanism is crucial for safety and stability during use. Ensure that the folding saw has a secure locking mechanism that keeps the blade in place when extended, minimizing the risk of accidental closure or blade slippage while cutting. Test the locking mechanism before purchasing to ensure it’s easy to engage and disengage but remains secure during use.

Ergonomic Handle Design: Comfortable handling is essential for extended use without causing hand fatigue or discomfort. Look for a bushcraft folding saw with an ergonomic handle design that provides a secure grip and minimizes hand strain during cutting. Handles with rubberized or textured grips can offer better control and stability, especially in wet or slippery conditions.

Versatility and Adaptability: Consider the versatility of the folding saw and whether it can handle a variety of cutting tasks encountered in bushcraft activities. Some saws come with interchangeable blades or features such as multi-angle cutting adjustments, which can enhance their adaptability to different wood types, sizes, and cutting scenarios. Choose a saw that offers the versatility needed for your specific bushcraft needs.

Safety Tips and Best Practices

Select a Stable Cutting Surface: Before starting to cut, ensure that you have a stable and flat surface to work on. Avoid cutting on unstable or uneven surfaces that could lead to slips or mishaps.

Use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Always wear appropriate personal protective equipment, such as gloves and safety glasses, to protect your hands and eyes from wood chips, debris, or accidental slips.

Mind Your Surroundings: Be aware of your surroundings, including other people, animals, and potential hazards like overhanging branches or loose rocks. Make sure there is enough space around you to safely maneuver the saw without risking injury to yourself or others.

Handle the Saw with Care: Handle the folding saw with care, especially when opening and closing it. Ensure that the locking mechanism is securely engaged before beginning to cut. Avoid placing your fingers near the blade while folding or unfolding the saw to prevent accidental cuts.

Follow Proper Cutting Techniques: Use proper cutting techniques to minimize the risk of accidents. Keep a firm grip on the saw handle and use controlled, steady motions while cutting. Let the saw do the work by applying gentle pressure rather than forcing it through the wood, which could lead to loss of control or injury. Additionally, always cut away from your body to avoid accidentally cutting yourself.

Introduction to Home Distillers

Do you know what a home water distiller is? If not, you’re in for a treat. A water distiller is a machine that takes tap water and turns it into distilled water. This means that all of the impurities are removed from the water, leaving you with pure, clean H2O. In this blog post, we will discuss the benefits of owning a home water distiller and how to choose the right one for your needs!

Why you need a home water distiller

One of the reasons that home water distillers are gaining in popularity is the increased awareness of the importance of drinking pure water. Although most people think that their tap water is safe, it can actually be full of contaminants that can be harmful to your health.

Another reason to invest in a home water distiller is the taste. Distilled water has a clean, fresh taste that is much better than tap water. If you have ever had the experience of drinking distilled water from a store, you know how much better it tastes.

Finally, home water distillers are a great way to save money. If you are currently buying bottled water, you know how expensive it can be. By investing in a home water distiller, you can save a lot of money in the long run.

How home water distillers work

Water distillation is a process of separating water molecules from contaminants by heating water to its boiling point and then collecting the resulting steam. This process leaves behind any solid contaminants, as well as dissolved minerals and other impurities. The result is pure, distilled water that is safe to drink.

Most home water distillers use an electric heating element to boil the water. The steam produced by the boiling water is then passed through a cooling system, where it condenses back into a liquid. The resulting distilled water is collected in a storage container for later use.

Benefits of using a home water distiller

There are several reasons why you might want to use a home water distiller. One of the most obvious benefits is that it can help you save money. Buying bottled water can be expensive, and it’s not always the most environmentally friendly option. By distilling your own water, you can cut down on waste and reduce your carbon footprint.

Another benefit of using a home water distiller is that it can help improve your health. Distilled water is free of contaminants like bacteria, viruses, and minerals that can be harmful to your health. It’s also helpful for people who have certain medical conditions like kidney disease or diabetes, as it can help them avoid potentially dangerous complications.

Finally, using a home water distiller can simply make your water taste better. If you’re not a fan of the way your tap water tastes, distilled water is a great alternative. It’s also worth noting that distilled water is a good choice for making coffee or tea, as it doesn’t contain any minerals that could alter the taste.

Types of water distillers

There are several types of home water distillers on the market. The two most common are the batch distiller and the countertop distiller.

The batch distiller is the type most often used in commercial settings. It is a large, stainless steel unit that sits on the counter or floor and has a water reservoir that needs to be filled manually. These units can take up to four hours to produce a gallon of distilled water.

The countertop distiller is a smaller unit that sits on the counter and has a built-in water reservoir. These units typically have a one-gallon capacity and can produce distilled water in about 2 to 3 hours hour.

Typical countertop distiller

When choosing a home water distiller, it is important to consider your needs and budget. If you only need a small amount of distilled water, then a countertop unit may be all you need. If you need larger amounts of distilled water, then you may want to consider investing in a batch distiller. In most cases a countertop distiller is sufficient to start with.

How to choose the right home water distiller

When you want to buy a home water distiller, you will find that there are many models and options on the market. So, how do you know which one is the best for you? This guide will help you choose the right home water distiller for your needs.

There are several factors to consider when choosing a home water distiller. The first is the size of the unit. Home water distillers come in a variety of sizes, from small countertop models to larger floor models. The size you need will depend on how much distilled water you need to produce and where you plan to store it.

Another factor to consider is the type of heating element used in the unit. Some home water distillers use an electric heating element, while others use a stovetop heating element. Each type has its own advantages and disadvantages. Electric heating elements are more expensive to operate, but they are more efficient and easier to use. Stovetop heating elements are less expensive to operate, but they can be slower and more difficult to control.

Finally, you need to decide what features you want in your home water distiller. Some units come with filters that remove impurities from the water before it is distilled. Others have automatic shut-off features that turn the unit off when the desired level of purity is reached. Still others have storage tanks that allow you to store distilled water for future use. Choose the features that best meet your needs.

Typically the countertop image above are the most popular units. They require no filters and produce about 2 gallons of pure, clean, distilled water.

How to use a home water distiller – How they work

1)Fill the boiling chamber of your unit with water to the fill line.
2)Connect the power cord to an outlet, and then turn on the distiller by pressing the power switch. The red light will come on, indicating that the unit is heating the water.
3)It will take about 2-3 hours to distill a gallon of water. The green light will come on when distillation is complete.
4)Once distillation is complete, allow the unit to cool for 30 minutes before opening the lid.
5)Pour the distilled water into a clean container for storage.

Caring for your home water distiller

Once you have your home water distiller properly installed, you only need to do a few things to keep it running smoothly and ensuring it produces the best quality distilled water.

The most important requirement is to keep your distiller clean. After about 3 or 4 uses of the countertop unit you will notice a limescale build up. This can be difficult to remove. The way that you clean this build up is to use a ‘Still Clean’. The one I use is shown below which came with the unit. Click the image below to find alternative products on Amazon.

To use the Still Cleaner I fill the distiller with water and add a table spoon of Still Clean. I use a wooden spoon so as not to scratch the inside of the unit and mix the descaler until completely dissolved. I then leave to sit for approximately 2 to 3 hours. After that time tip the water down the sink and wipe the bottom clean.

To clean the limescale without the descaler is very difficult without damaging the distiller.

Still Clean

Frequently asked questions about home water distillers

Frequently asked questions about home water distillers

How often should I clean my home water distiller?
You should clean your home water distiller unit once a week or after using 3 to 4 times. Change the water in the storage tank every two to three days, and clean the housing and boiling chamber with a descaler as shown above.

What are the white flakes in my distilled water?
The white flakes are residue from the boiling process and are completely harmless. They will not affect the taste or quality of your distilled water.

Why does my distilled water have a funny taste?
If your distilled water tastes strange, it could be caused by a number of factors, including:
-a build-up of minerals in the boiling chamber,
-the type of filter you are using,
-the quality of the water you are using to fill the unit, or
-the length of time the unit has been in use.
If you notice a change in the taste of your distilled water, it is recommended that you clean your unit and replace the filter.

Final thoughts

Home water distillers are a great way to improve the quality of your drinking water. By removing contaminants and other pollutants, these machines can provide you with clean and safe water for drinking, cooking, and bathing. If you’re interested in purchasing a home water distiller, be sure to do your research first. There are many different models on the market, so it’s important to find one that fits your needs and budget. And remember, always use distilled water for making baby formula or coffee! When packed it stands 40 inches tall by 8 inches long (1 meter). However when fully stretched out this super sturdy aluminium frame provides me ample space at 6 feet 2 inches between both ends allowing plenty of shoulder room for a weight capacity of 300 pounds. The Osage folding cot weighs just over 12 pounds and is simple to store, pack, and transport. It measures 40 inches tall, 8 inches long, and 5 inches wide when packed. It wouldn’t surprise if this was by some as one of the best tent cots.

When sleeping outside, each plastic foot is meant to keep the cot from sinking into soft soil or cutting through the bottom of my tent. Its benefits include: * Its carbon steel legs make it highly strong; * It is lightweight and easy to transport; and * It is comfortable to sleep in. The OSAGE RIVER FOLDING CAMP COT is a great way to start any camping trip by providing a comfortable bed.

Redcamp rc 18102

The REDCAMP is a heavy-duty steel camping essential that can hold up to 500 pounds and weighs 14.7 pounds, but it’s also easy for you (and your loved ones) to sleep on with plenty of room! When folded into its convenient carrying bag – which measures 9 inches wide by 41 long – this cot will fit anywhere from home or work storage spaces as well as car trunk depths without worrying about damaging anything in transit; even if there were an emergency situation where all else failed…you’d still have yourself one happy camper at least until things sorted themselves out again

It has a 75″ long bed that can accommodate adults comfortably, along with 5 colors (Blue Black Camo Green Grey) for your choice! The waterproof fabric is really liked by us because it allows more robust design than other campers out there in this price range. This, combined with the REDCAMP’s steel legs, allows it to support a significant amount of weight. Furthermore, the cot’s feet are made of non-slip rubber to prevent your tent’s floor from sliding into the earth. inally, the REDCAMP is quite simple to fold or put up, and it comes with a wonderful backpack to make travel even easier.

Teton Sports 120A

In terms of weight-bearing capacity, my next cot is by far the most durable. The Teton Sports 120A has a weight capacity of 600 pounds! The Teton, however, is the heaviest on my list due to its size and weight of 26 pounds. Though this is a disadvantage for ultralight hikers, it is still quite light and portable. Its strength originates from its powerful pivot arm design. The Teton is not only exceptionally durable, but also very easy to take down and set up, thanks to its reinforced steel S-legs. The Teton is elevated from the ground and features a 600D oxford canvas bed that is both durable and comfy. Its dimensions, in particular, appealed to me, and they will be crucial for any tall people out there. The Teton Sports is the largest Tent Cot on my list, with a 40-inch wide, 19-inch tall, and 85-inch long cloth bed. Setting up and taking down is a simple thanks to the S-leg foundation. here will be no more adjusting each corner or straightening out each leg. The S-leg form takes care of that for you and takes convenience to a whole new level.

Byer of Maine Easy Cot

Some people may be fooled by its simple and plain style, but don’t let that deter you from purchasing the next cot on my list. The main fabric bed on the Byer of Maine Easy Cot features a tan outside rim with a blue internal colour. The X-shaped legs provide a strong and dependable framework that can support up to 330 pounds. It’s a little on the hefty side at 21 pounds, but its strength and maneuverability make up for it. Its strength comes from the welded steel and 600 denier polyester five-panel fabric. The cloth is also reinforced in the centre, where the cot takes the brunt of the weight. The cloth is also reinforced in the centre, where the cot takes the brunt of the weight. This enables the cot to be used for extended periods of time and has a longer lifespan. The Byer of Maine is not only a great cot to have on all of your camping adventures, but it’s also ideal for a temporary visitor at your house. At 31 inches (2.7 feet) wide, making it suitable for those taller than six feet. I particularly appreciated the carrying bag, which fits beautifully into many storage locations or vehicles for simple transportation; however, fitting the cot into the bag can be difficult.

ALPS Mountaineering Ready Lite Cot

The ALPS Mountaineering is by far our lightest and most convenient cot. It’s easy to carry, making hiking with it on your backpack straightforward. Camping in this environment an even more enjoyable hobby when you get the sleep that suits your needs at night! which make pitching easier than ever before – meaning no more struggling while trying not only find a secure spot for yourself but also drag all those around you. Despite its compact frame and lightweight construction, the ALPS Mountaineering can support up to 300 pounds and is exceptionally sturdy. The ALPS Mountaineering Ready Lite Cot has a length of 78 inches, a width of 28 inches, and a height of 7.5 inches, making it not only a wonderful camping essential but also a great and comfy bed while out in the wild. It has an aluminium frame and a 100% polyester fabric, making it extremely light, extremely portable, and extremely durable all at the same time. The ALPS is only 17 inches long and 7 inches tall when folded into the carrying pouch. For those of us who want the right blend of portability and comfort, this is the way to go. As you may have guessed the ALPS Mountaineering cot is our favorite tent cot. It is very portable, lightweight and strong enough to comfortably sleep most people.

Final Thoughts

Well, we’ve come to the end of our review and our favourite as mentioned is the ALPS Mountaineering Ready Lite Cot. We chose this because of it’s strength based on it’s weight. For beginners the other options are just as good though. If your just starting out the other cheaper options my suite you needs better. Any of the above mentioned are a great choice for all levels of campers, hikers and the outdoorsy types.

Thanks for stopping by and reading my review on the best tent cots. Come back soon for more reviews I’ll be adding soon.

Introduction

We review the 6 best Bushcraft saws in our opinion, making your choice of choosing the right one for you, an easy choice.

It’s no secret that a good bushcraft saw is an essential piece of gear. In fact, many people might even say it’s the most essential tool in your kit. With so many different saws on the market, it can be hard to know which one is right for you. So, we’ve put together a list of the six of the best bushcraft saws to help make your decision a little bit easier. Keep reading to learn more!

Silky Pocketboy 130mm

The Pocketboy 130 is a lightweight and compact folding saw perfect for pruning trees on your hike or bike ride. It’s nicknamed the little giant due to its extraordinary cutting capacity. With five inch blade that can cut up through three inches in diameter at four angles along its length. Making it an excellent resource when you need something chopped off quickly!. With impulse hardened teeth, you can cut through almost anything with three times the blade length.

It’s also resistant to rust and pitch which means it will stay sharp longer than normal knives even when wet or frozen! Plus the rubber handle makes for an excellent grip whether your hands are cold from outside elements like snowstorms in wintertime. Hot during summer days at campground cookouts. Or wearing gloves because there may be certain tasks that just don’t feel right without protecting skin against cuts (like slicing vegetables). The Pocket Boy has so many benefits: very little space is required to store with easy access anywhere anytime. That’s why we selected to be one of our best bushcraft saws.

Gerber Freescrape Camp Saw

The Freescape Camp Saw is the perfect tool for any outdoor enthusiast who loves to build things. This saw can cut through larger diameter wood without difficulty and its innovative design makes it simple to fold up flat while still remaining completely assembled. It makes storage in your pack or gear bag easier than ever before! With an extra large grip placed on top of rubber handles that stay securely in place during use. So you don’t have trouble holding onto this heavy duty equipment even when working uphill using only one arm. There really isn’t much more I could ask from my favorite piece of adventuring kit besides being able stand tall against whatever obstacles come along our way.

Nordic Pocket Chain Saw

There is a saying that there are no tools better in work than your ability to maintain them and keep them in good shape. That’s why I want to point out three very important things when it comes to maintaining your Nordic pocket saw. First thing is that you should always try to keep it clean and dry. That means that you need to clean it out every now and then as a second step it’s very important to be able to sharpen all the teeth. That has to be done frequently. You run through the chain all the way and you normally make two strokes on each tooth.

Once you’ve done on the one side you flip it over, change hand with the sharpener and then you go on the next side. Same procedure, two strokes. As the third step and once through the sharpening there is one thing remaining and that is to use some lubricating oil. This keeps all the links and the joint in between moving. So it doesn’t get the chance to get stuck. Once you are through these three very simple steps of maintaining your Nordic pocket saw it is ready to go and it will perform very well next time you use it.

Zippo 3-in-1 Axesaw

Your going to love this one as it’s my favorite. It’s a three in one. The first being a hatchet, to use this remove the safety sheath and can be used to chop kindling and shave tinder. Anything else you would use a hatchet for. It also converts into a Bow Saw. To turn it into a bow saw, remove the saw blade located in the handle. Loosed thumbscrew and open the sheath. Attach the blade and tighten the screw. Attach the other end of the saw blade to the tensioner handle and close cam lever. You now have yourself a bow saw. Can also be used as a mallet using the back of the blade. Please remember to attach the sheath first. Being a three in one it makes it a choice that gives you bang for your buck making it one our first choices for best bushcraft saw.

Nordic Pocket Saw 25.6 inch or 36 inch

The Nordic pocket chainsaw is a powerful and convenient tool that can withstand almost 20 times more than we do. With its robustness confirmed in laboratory testing, this tiny saw will make quick work of whatever you need hacked down! The teeth are set relatively close together which makes it efficient at cutting through wood or other materials like metal sheets with little effort on your part – perfect for those days when things just don’t go smoothly enough outside–or even if there’s bad weather coming soon…

The Nordic pocket saw is a critical tool for any emergency responder, outdoor enthusiast or survivalist. This powerful and smooth cutting motion can cut through tough material with ease while providing you protection from painful contact thanks to its sharp teeth that are directed in one direction just like on all second links together! The handles also offer many different grip options so it’s easy enough even if your hands may be wet due recent rainstorms outside during wintertime season when using this lightweight but durable piece of equipment made specifically by fishermen who know what they’re doing. You see why we added this to our list of best bushcraft saws.

Corona RS 7041 Razor Tooth Folding Saw

The Razer Tooth saw blade is made of Japanese SK5 steel, which has a high carbon content. It contains up to six teeth per inch and triple ground for smooth cutting with three distinct angles on each tooth allowing it reduce friction during the cut even after many strokes have been taken from one side in order maintain its original sharpness. As well as prevent rusting due an chemical reaction between moisture present on your skin or tools being used when moistened by sweat. This also acts like another protective layer extending their lifetime!

No 1 – Yoshihiro Tsubaki Japanese Knife Oil

This three-piece set contains a 3.4 ounce bottle of tsubaki oil derived from camellia oil, which may be used on any knife, including those used in the kitchen. For simple and smooth application, you’ll also get a complementary cloth and a rust eraser. You can prevent corrosion, staining, and rust on your folding and other knives with just a few drops. The tools will be brighter than ever before, and they will work faster than ever before. The saboteur rust eraser makes removing stains and rust from the knife a breeze.

No 2 – Kurobara Tsubaki Knife Oil

This oil comes in two variants, so you have to double check the pack to be sure you got the right one. This is easier to use, since you simply spray it onto your blade.

The smaller bottle. 3.5 ounces has a nozzle on its lid, so if you prefer to work with drops, rather than droplets, opt for the smaller packaging, both variants have a pretty golden yellow, color and comprise 100 camellia oil. This product is intended for the global market. It has no discernible taste or smell, though it has a slightly floral flavor, it’s safe to use in the kitchen, but it’s not an edible oil, so you shouldn’t put it directly into food.

This knife oil may also be used to lubricate the blades, needles, and moving components of other equipment like sewing machines, swords, and more, and it’s particularly efficient against rust. They can also be used to condition rope and wood, so wooden knife handles and composites are safe to use. This oil is more convenient than some of its competitors because it comes in multiple sizes and has two applicator options. The oil will last several years if stored properly, but keep it away from dust.

No 3 – KPL Knife Pivot Lube Knife Oil

ItIt was created with the pivot and locking mechanisms in current folding knives in mind. Joints, locks, and bearings all benefit from this synthetic oil. It’s also an excellent blade protector because it lubricates moving parts and repels dirt and dust, preventing small particles from blocking the lock joint over time. This sort of oil can penetrate even the toughest metals and ceramics, making it an excellent choice for blades of all types. Plus, oil does more than lubricate this knife. It acts as a barrier against rust and corrosion while also providing the knife with the lubrication it requires to withstand typical wear and tear. Because it isn’t food-grade, only use it on non-kitchen knives.

No 4 – Citadel Black Natura Knife Oil

This lubricant can be used to prevent premature wear and rust on steel and carbon steel kitchen cutlery. The solderless, low viscosity oil distributes evenly and never solidifies, yet because it is food quality, it will preserve its smoothness and texture for a long time. Whether it’s steel, stainless steel, or carbon steel, you use it to make food on a regular basis. Because of the pipette-style, dropper form of the bottle, this oil has your back. For safe and effective protection, it can also be applied on blades such as garden tools, axes, meat grinders, or any metal.

No 5 – Thirteen Chefs Knife and Honing Oil

TThis strong knife oil makes knife upkeep simple and uncomplicated. This snap oil comes in a 12-ounce container with a lot of bang for your buck. This amount is adequate for frequent and consistent usage on a variety of equipment other than knives, particularly metal-like ones such as axes and meat grinders. The dispensing caps allow the oil and droplets to be dispensed without splattering. Furthermore, this is the most effective knife oil for preventing rust and corrosion on these blades.

This natural oil protects your knife from such flaws, which is likely to cause them to deteriorate. It’s manufactured with approved food-grade components, so it’s safe to use on knives and kitchen equipment when preparing food. You will never have to worry about food contamination or health problems. It also works as an honing oil for sharpening stones, preventing swarf from blocking the pores and making cleaning the stone easier.

No 6 – Liberty Oil for Lubricating Knives

You may use this multi-purpose oil to clean, protect, and lubricate your blades. It includes a 1.5-inch, 18-gauge stainless steel pharmaceutical-grade applicator for applying oil to the working parts of a folding or pocket knife to keep them operating smoothly and decrease friction. You can use the oil to form a protective barrier on the blades of folding fix or pocket knives by spreading it out evenly.

The synthetic oil can be used on painted or plastic surfaces as well. This synthetic oil has the advantages of not gumming up and not evaporating.

Final Thoughts

Now that you know about the best oils for sharpening and caring for blades, it’s time to put this knowledge into practice. Cinderella Toilet System – Incinerating Toilet https://epicprepper.com/cinderella-toilet-system-incinerating-toilet/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=cinderella-toilet-system-incinerating-toilet Thu, 21 Apr 2022 04:33:48 +0000 https://epicprepper.com/?p=1487 Introduction We take a close look at the Cinderella toilet system, which is in fact an incineration toilet. The post Cinderella Toilet System – Incinerating Toilet appeared first on EpicPrepper.

Introduction

We take a close look at the Cinderella toilet system, which is in fact an incineration toilet. Incineration toilets are a great way to get rid of waste. The incinerating process leaves nothing behind but dry ash, removing any potential environmental hazards while also eliminating odor!
The hot poop on cinderella will show you what we mean when it comes time for installation. Our expert installers have been known not just unbox these babies but actually set them up too.

What is a Cinderella toilet?

The Cinderella toilet is a great option if you are looking to reduce your environmental footprint. It’s efficient, safe and easy-to use! The process of evaporating off all that waste heat creates sterilized gray ash. This can be disposed off easily by following the instructions. It can be used around 120 times before the ash container needs to be emptied.

How does the Cinderella toilet work?

The Cinderella toilet system is a breeze to use. You simply put your liner place in the bowl. You do your business, close the lid and press the button. That’s it on your end. The toilet will fire up and begin it’s incineration process.
The liners or bags are leak or resistant proof so everything is contained within the bag.

Once the lid is closed the magnetic sensor will detect this and begin the process of incineration. Then the fan is going to turn on and the heat is going to be applied. There is a fresh air supply that the toilet needs. So the fresh air is going to come in it’s going to aid in the combustion and the incineration of the product, it’s going to aid in the cooling of the internal components down and then it’s going to get exhausted at the ventilation system. So you should never ever have any bad smells or anything like that within your bathroom house, camper rv, whatever you’re using.

As you can see here, the ash container is designed to hold about 120 uses so depending on the frequency of use, you may have to empty this every three to four weeks that all varies depending on the size of the deposit. The ash container Itself is light and easy to handle and the ash itself is safe and sterile, so you can dump it out into the garbage compost bin into the yard. The same way you would dispose of wood ash.

Cinderella accessories

So there’s a couple different types of accessories. You can get you can get liner holders that would allow you to put this onto a wall for easy access for those emergencies. There is a maintenance kit, that’s just going to help you clean the toilet out when it needs to get cleaned every once in a while. There is also a footrest you can buy that can assist with young children.

Yearly maintenance

The manual it comes with describes the yearly maintenance that’s required. This includes taking off your toilet and giving it a good scrubbing, flushing out any accumulated waste matter through one of two vents on either side (or directly beneath), brushes for cleaning inside each bowl as well – these are what we call “toilet valves” in America! There is also an important tool called catalyst which has been included by default; you’ll need to remove this only once per year though since our handy kit contains all necessary chemicals needed at home or when traveling abroad…
A word about safety: Make sure children stay away from restroom complexes until they’re grown up enough not only handle themselves but know where everything goes too.

You can visit the official site for detailed maintenance and use here:

Cinderella waste disposal

You can dispose of the waste as you would wood ash residue. You can place in compost, sprinkle in garden beds the choice is yours. The waste is safe with no chemical mixed in.

Safe to use

Whilst the incinerator is doing it’s thing, you’re not going to hurt yourself or anything like that. This toilet lid, like i mentioned before, has a cool magnet sensor in here. So what that means, if there’s an incineration cycle, that’s ongoing right now and you need to use a washroom. All you need to do is lift this lid. The magnet sensor is going to disconnect and it’s going to pause the cycle. You can then go ahead and use the toilet as you would normally.

So that means you can use a washer multiple times, while a cycle is ongoing. What that also means, too, is, if you have little ones running around they’re playing by the toilet, for whatever reason kids do and they lift the lid. While it’s going to stop the cycle, no one’s going to get hurt and it’s very, very safe. All cinderella, incinerating toilet products are highly engineered and undergo extensive testing and certification by third party labs. As of the date of this recording, the electric model has the USF41 and special protocol 157, and the propane gas model is the only fully certified incinerating toilet available in North America, with the UL 791, UL 791 crd csa 5.2 and CSA 22.2.

The ash container also has a safety feature and a sensor down below. So if that ash container is not seated properly, the toilet will not operate. You have to put the ash container in turn. It all the way to the left and then once that sensor connects, then you can start a cycle.

Ventilation System

Now the ventilation for both units are UL certified they’re designed for these toilets and designed to work in a specific manner. So, as i mentioned before, you’re going to have fresh air coming into the toilet works in the you know, it’s going to help out with the next generation cooling the components in the toilet down. Then it’s going to get exhausted at the ventilation system. All of this has been tested to work together for optimum performance. Any deviation from what the manual states on the ventilation system can alter that airflow, which then can alter how the toilet operates.

So, instead of getting a fine gray ash, you may get kind of like a brown clumpy gray grossness. You don’t want that. So i would highly recommend, following the manual specifications for the ventilation system, Some minor adjustments can be made and if so and not sure how to proceed you may need to contact the seller to discuss that.

Cinderella – All Models

Cinderella Urinal for high traffic situations

There is also the option for the Cinderella urinal in case of high traffic situations. It is a unisex model and waterless. The drainage system has a baffle with filter and everything like that, so you’re never going to smell anything nasty. It can be drained through the floor or through the wall.

Cinderella Advantages

Well, if you’re an area that has a lot of rock bed or you’re worried about the watershed or you just don’t like composting toilets, then these are the toilets for you. They are a whole septic solution system solution. So you can go number one number two paper: towel toilet paper, women’s hygiene products. Everything can go down and gets incinerated, there’s nothing going to be nothing’s left but gray ash. So they work really well that way especially with the rising cost of septics tanks. The saving is about 25 to 30% in saving as compared to septic tank.

Electricity and Fuel consumption

The electric model runs at 2000 watts. The average run time can be anywhere from half an hour to an hour. Let’s just say so that could be a thousand to two thousand watts within an hour.

The propane model runs off a 12 volt battery source. The battery is going to run the exhaust fan and your control board at around 1.3 amps. As far as propane goes, it hold about 20 pounds of propane and you will get between 60 and 100 flushes with that. As an estimation you could expect to spend about 20 to 30 cents per flush for the gas model. So you can see the Cinderella toilet system is very cost effective.

Whos buying them.

The Cinderella toilet system is being installed in many tiny homes across the USA. They are also used in out houses, public gold courses, parks and many such places. So they an extremely popular method of waste disposal. They are a favorite with off gridders and preppers who want and require that self seficiancy.
The off gridders love it because you don’t need to be connencted to the mains. All you require is propane and a 12v battery supply which most off gridders have with their solar power supply.

Final Thoughts

The Cinderella toilet system is really making some serious inroads as people look for alternative lifestyles. So if your one of those, then this incineration toilet system could be one that suits your needs. It is completely safe and reduces your carbon footprint to a slither. As discussed earlier preppers are really going for this type of system as it gives them the freedom to build just about anywhere.

Introduction:

We take a thorough review into the top 4 best bushcraft axes in the industry today.

Gear is an important part of bushcraft. What you choose to bring with you into the wilderness can mean the difference between life and death. That’s why it’s important to select the right gear, and one of the most important pieces of gear is an axe. In this blog post, I’ll be discussing the four best axes for bushcraft. Each one has its own unique strengths and weaknesses, so read on to find out which one is right for you.

What is a bushcraft axe?

A bushcraft axe as opposed to a camping axe is that bushcraft requires to be a little more rugged and therefore larger in size. Camping requires more gear than bushcrafting. A bushcrafter utilizes more of the natural surroundings and materials to survive outdoors. Whereas a camper will sleep in a tent, cook on a portable stove etc, I think you get the drift.

A bushcraft axe is an essential tool for the outdoorsman. Unlike a camping axe, which is designed for lightweight packing and easier transportation, a bushcraft axe is made for heavy chopping tasks. It’s perfect for felling trees, cutting logs and branches, and splitting wood. In this blog post, we’ll discuss the different types of bushcraft axes available on the market today, as well as tips on how to choose the right one for your needs. Stay tuned!

Estwing Sportsman Axe

No 1 Estwing Sportsman Axe

One of the few axes or hatchets you can buy in big department stores. That is worth the money. The estwing sportsman’s axe is a nice looking and effective hatchet. It’s available in two lengths, 12.5 or 13.

The handle size you want will depend on what kind of use it’s going in your RV. If this is just an extra set for camping, then I’d go with the smaller one since they’re light enough and don’t have too much leverage that would make things difficult while mobility might be increased by getting something like a 13 inch or 14″. But if having more reach comes naturally to someone who likes doing yard work back home – which often includes full sized appliances being operated near poolsides- then maybe investing into longer version could actually save some effort when loading these heavy

No 2 Grandfors Bruks Small Forest Axe

Grandfors Bruks Small Forest Axe

The Gransfor Bruck Scandinavian Forest Axe is the best overall bushcraft axe, but if you want something more compact and portable then go with their small forest axe. It weighs 2 pounds because it has a 1 pound head as well 19 inches handle which can be shorter than 23″.

It would make good camp companions due to its light weight despite being powerful enough for most cutting tasks around your home or cabin.
The blade length on these two models vary from 10-14 inch long handles while coming fully sharpened ready for action.

No 3 Gransfors Bruks Scandinavian Forest Axe

Gransfors Bruks Scandinavian Forest Axe

Granfors Axe Manufacturing is one of the most well-known axe manufacturers around today. They have been making axes for over 100 years and take great pride in each blade’s design. From forge welding to even fitting handles made out hickory wood by their skilled workers!

The Model 430 Jack Of All Trades has an excellent versatility that can clear areas around trees felled or cut down with it’s limited chopping ability. It still packs enough power as a primary tool when needed without fear because you’re working safely behind closed doors where proper ventilation exists so no carbon monoxide enters your workspace.

Hults Bruk Akka Foressters Outdoor Axe

No 4 Hults Bruk Akka Foresters Outdoor Axe

The Halt’s Bruck Akka Forester Premium Outdoor Axe is a durable tool that can be used for both camping and downtime activities. It has an over sized 1 pound head with 24 inches of handle, which makes it perfect when you’re out on the trail by yourself or need something heavier than your typical hatchet to cut down trees.

PLATAPUS Gravity Works 4.0L Water Filter

Gravityworks 4-liter system is a fast and easy way to filter lots of water. Whether you’re deep in the backcountry or car camping at trailhead. The large 4 liters reservoirs allow for quick filtration with no effort – it takes only 1/2 hour before your first drink! Additionally there’s enough storage capacity so that even during high demand situations (up 8 pods), all will be accorded cleanliness without worry about running low on supplies beforehand…

What’s the best way to filter water? It is not always easy finding a clean source, but with this system it only takes one tap of your hose. The dirty reservoir can be filled from any nearby puddle or stream that you find while out on an adventure – no need for silly filters at scenic overlooks! Use zip ties and elevate them so they’re higher than anything else around (a tree works well).

The input tells us how-to do everything step by steps; there isn’t much colloquialism used in these.

Filtering at maximum speed, the dirty reservoir above rest of system extending hose as much possible allow little water collect in clean filter and raise it up high so you can flush any air that entered into your device. If camping far away from drinking source then after filtering eight liters onsite first before filling ozone contaminated waters back home again with only 2L left inside both tanks!

You can choose from different closure caps to match your needs in the field. A quick 4 second back flush is all that’s required for regular maintenance. It will keep things running smoothly! Approximately every 8 liters (depending on water quality). Do this simple procedure: reverse four seconds then let flow into dirty reservoir until running clear again.

Doing this quickly becomes second nature and will ensure you the best speed and long term performance from your filter. However, you travel if you want the most water with the least hassle, there’s no beating the gravity works.

With the Sawyer Squeeze Filter, you can enjoy hiking and camping with a light weight total field of three ounces. The pouches are affordable at only $8 each for all sizes! This filter is perfect because it’s packable meaning no more heavy backpacks or tents when traveling abroad- just bring your water bottle so that there will be plenty left over after filling up on some adventure near campfire.

In order to use this product simply select which pouch size best fits what kind travel plans have in mind then fill them both equally full before screwing off the top.

Whether you’re at home or abroad, don’t trust bottled water when traveling. The filter will keep your drink safe and healthy with its large surface area that catches any dirty needles from the tap—and it takes less than 20 seconds! If needed (rare!), follow these steps to backwash: Unscrew push-pull cap on bottom of Squeeze Filters; fill included syringe between two filters until foam begins draining out into jars.

Introduction

Having a crank flashlight for emergency situations should be on everyone’s radar. There’s no batteries to worry about just crank and light. With unexpected power outages, a common occurrence in many parts of the world it’s no wonder a hand cranked flashlight would be a valuable addition to all households. Due to their low price tag, having several around the house would be a great idea. Not to mention storing one in a bug out bag or survival kit. All the listed flashlights have a rating of 4 or higher so they are all quality products that have stood the test of time.

In this article we will take a look at 6 of the most popular crank flashlight and give our recommendations in the conclusion.

Criteria used for ranking

We decided to base our decision on four main criteria. They are, quality, customer feedback, video reviews, price and features. You will find a detailed synopsis of each flashlight in the sections below. We have read hundreds of customer reviews, product specifications listed on the sales page and countless youtube videos which resulted in our final conclusions.

Let’s begin.

PrimalCamp Review

This flashlight can also be charged using a small panel which works quite well. Some reviews report the flashlight feels flimsy but does a good job at lighting a dark corridor. Only requires a few minutes of cranking to get enough light to get you out of trouble. Advertised as requiring 7 minutes of cranking for 1 hour of light. Overall a good unit that does what is required with no other features.

RunningSnail Review

This little unit is next level from the basic hand crank flashlights, the downside is it’s size. Overall a quality flashlight includes a reading light, AM/FM radio with NOAA weather alert radio. A good feature to have in emergency situations. There’s 3 methods of charging, the usual being crank and solar but also micro usb to charge from the power outlet. A feature that may come in handy is a 2000MaH power bank this will give you the ability to charge your phone and other small devices. Very favorable reviews all round and if your not too concerned with space a great purchase.

FosPower Review

As with the RunningSnail a it is jammed packed with features. The only difference it contains a 4000 maH power bank. It’s crank is sturdy and has a general good feel about it.

Thorfire Review

The Thorfire is a tiny bit bulkier compared to the other smaller crankshafts. Advertised as 1 minute of cranking for 1 hour of light This was verified by several written and video reviews and a real plus.

Meco Review

The Meco is another small sized crank operated flashlight and is a nice compact and well made flashlight. Advertised to only crank for a minute to get 8 minutes of light. Reviews confirm that with only a few turns they are able to have light for more than 5 minutes. As of today for around 16 bucks you get two, a great deal in my opinion.

Simpeak Review

Two for the price of one is what you get for around 16 bucks. First impression with this flashlight is it’s lightness and size. It is the smallest of all the crank flahslights which makes it great for bug out bags. It’s advertised as 10 minutes of light time for 1 minute of cranking. The reviews confirm with only 30 sec of winding you get around 5 minutes of use.

Conclusion:

After going through the listed features, reading countless reviews and watching enough review videos it was a tough choice. They are all great little devices which are standalone with no batteries required. All of them had solar and hand crank except for the RunningSnail and FosPower which had the third option of micro usb to charge them. Essentially there are two categories of flashlight here, the four which are the smallest and mainly used as flashlights. And the other two with the added features.

The two I would buy for myself are as follows.

The first being the Thorfire which seemed to be the more durable and the better light capacity. This would be great to be placed in a survival kit, bug out bag or glove box. I wouldn’t be too fussed if either of these products were given to me as a present mind you. The main reason for choosing the Thorfire was its’ more rugged look and the fact it was water proof.

The other I would definitely buy is the FosPower which included the 4000 maH power bank as opposed to the 2000 mAh for the RunningSnail. Both are really good products with very favorable reviews so it was difficult to split them so my final decision was based on the bigger power bank.
